The next KROQ Locals Only Showcase will be held at the Roxy Theatre on next Thursday Aug. 19.
Italian Japanese, who were just voted this week’s #1 Locals Only Band, will headline the show. Sabrosa Purr and Jets Overhead will also be playing, with The Sea of Cortez opening up the night.
Silver Lake band Italian Japanese have been likened to bands ranging from Phoenix to the Silversun Pickups, but with their debut album The Lush, Romantic Weirdness, they definitely created a unique identity for themselves that has been getting them noticed. Their single “Le Pony” was #1 on last Sunday’s Locals Only show.
